About Ryan Shofner

I study bugs. True bugs. I focus specifically on filling in the Tree of Life: describing new species and determining relationships between species using modern genetics analyses. I also study the inter-relatedness of populations of single species, either to help determine conservation status or examine invasion pathways of pest species.

I pursue photography as my main hobby, wildlife, macro, and landscape.
